Well, I know what you mean. I have actually wanted to try that myself; we're a lot alike. However, my mother told me that maybe it isn't such a great idea for our hair. You can try it, but be prepared for the consequences if it doesn't work out. I've heard that your hair becomes fragile after using it....so I suggest finding someone who has used it, or go to a professional that works with African American hair.
