Help me out some one with african american hair?

ok my hair is very thin and i like to swim oh yeah in the middle of that most of it is dead ends what can i use what to do? will mayo and eggs work when i wash it after my daily swim?

Help me out some one with african american hair?

Ok your hair is fine and thin or coarse and thin? If fine and thin than putting mayo in it will leave it greasy even if it is "dead" you dont want oil BUILDUP this WILL NOT repair the damage. The best route to go to see a considerable improovement is to saturate the hair with a conditioner before you enter the pool. The hair acts like a sponge and will absorb only so much of anything. If your hair absorbs the cond or Healthy oil (im not an oil fan there are too many on the market that cause a horrible buildup) than when you enter the pool it will be buffered from the chlorine. make sure you keep up with your trims and try to wear a swim cap. There are also treatments that will take the chlorine residue out of the hair(this should be a 1 a month thing cause they tend to be drying as well)

Help me out some one with african american hair?

Mayo and eggs just takes the chemicals out of your hair such as a perm, or jeri curl.

Can anyone recommend a GOOD hair salon/stylist for African American hair in the Atlanta Area?

I need a stylist that is DEDICATED to growing healthy hair. It would also be helpful if the stylist if the stylist was "client-friendly".....that means, no over-booking, is timely and organized, professional and maintains a professional work environment.

Can anyone recommend a GOOD hair salon/stylist for African American hair in the Atlanta Area?

Any salon that only uses Aveda products. I completely trust Aveda. I've never had a bad experience. They offer tea and messages. The stylists have to go to a special Aveda school. All of their products are natural and cause very little damage.

How to :Waves for an updo, relaxed african american hair?

Im getting an updo and adding a hair piece, but I wanted to make my real hair look wavy so that the entire style looks more realistic. I dont want to put in any new perms or anything because i already had one less than 4 weeks ago. any suggestions?

How to :Waves for an updo, relaxed african american hair?

Get 2 combs, use lottabody and gel then wave your hair kind of like scrunching but wave it,when u get to where u want the 1st wave to stop take the comb pull up the hair where u want it to stop take the other comb and push the hair together, then start the next wave the same way.I don't know if this helped but if you need help email me %26amp; I will do a live video to show you !

What products are good products for african american hair?

my four year old has very curly hair and greese is to heavy and lotion is to light does any one have a suggestion?

What products are good products for african american hair?

Two suggestions; you could use Garnier Fructis or the African Pride products.

What products are good products for african american hair?

I disagree with lotion being to light because my 6 years old sister has very slick and curly hair and we use the B%26amp;B products especially the pink lotion with castrol oil... Its not as heavy as grease but it is thick and more moist than other brands of oil moisturizer... Their grease super gro is also lighter than most other grease... and these prouducts can be found almost anywhere Wal-mart to any beauty supply store. Also try the Aphogee products:) Good Luck

Are there any hair salons in abilene, tx that do african american hair?

i'm getting married in june and need to find a hair stylist there.

Are there any hair salons in abilene, tx that do african american hair?

Any beauty salon should be able to do it. When I went to beauty college, we did work on caucasion %26amp; african americans. The hair is not that different.

Which flat iron?

I am an African American women that has real thick hair. I am growing out my relaxer because the chemicals are making my hair come out. I am not mixd so I have real tight curls. I guess I have what most people would call nappy but it is managable. I love the straight look What flat iron will be good so that i can get my roots?

Which flat iron?

i've heard great things about the solia! check out this link and read the reviews and check out the before and after pics. i'm considering this flat iron for myself!

http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1...

good luck! hope this helps!

(btw they also have other sizes and even a pink one!!)

Which flat iron?

I would recommend a ghd straightner, they cost around $300 and are probably the top hair straightners you can buy, most hair dressers use them

I straightned my friends hair (her sounds very similar) and it looked great

Which flat iron?

try babyliss flat iron..

but maybe you have to use a hair serum first to make your hair smoother and also to help to get to your roots..

Which flat iron?

A paul mitchell Jade iron. you can get them thru your stylist. He/she can pick it up at any supply house. I use them on my customers. Reasonably priced too!!!

Which flat iron?

I know ceremic has been suggested for my hair, I have naturally curly hair... and the more curl your hair has the drier it is. This won't fry your hair like most irons, so I suspect that if you are already having hair issues from chemicals you may want to choose this one.

I gave up on trying to straighten my hair, I may not have super tight curls but I have a spot on the back of myhead that will not stay straight no matter what drying method you use... and I have tried all at once.. the ceramic is the only one that got my hair stick straight to last a while (humidity permitting)

best of luck... but why not embrace your curl... I love natural hair... over styled just takes so much time and energy... if you let it free you have much less beauty stress :)

What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

I currently use Optimum's conditioner which also works as a detangler and have used Paul Mitchell's conditioner/detangler. I don't want to keep using them all the time, I'd like to switch it up a bit. What are some detanglers or conditioner/detanglers that work really well and will not break off my hair?

What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

I used to use Motions Leave in Conditioner which doubled as a detangler. But as of now, I use Pantene Relaxed and Naturral products and the conditioner works as a detangler also. I like their products, it helps my relaxer last longer.

閳?br>What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

A RAZOR, ask Michael Jordan !!!

What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

try cream of nature shampoo/conditioner it's a great detangler!! i used it on my hair it works very well!!

What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

It's good to change the shampoo and conditioner every 3 months or so. Try to stay away from chemicals if at all possible. They tend to dry the scalp over time.

Herbal shampoos and conditioners are great for all types of hair; like Herbal Essence.

Before washing, like the night before, try soaking your hair and scalp with Extra Virgin Olive oil overnight or for at least 8 hours. It will make your hair shiny and soft.

What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

I use mane n tail detangler. it works well

What's the Best Detangler for African-American Hair?

My favorite way to begin the detangling process is to use a generous amount of Northwest Scents hair conditioner (made with coconut oil and lots of moisturizers) on my hair when I am washing it, and to comb it out in individual sections, beginning at the ends, and working my way down to the roots. For information about Northwest Scents hair conditioner visit www.nwscents.com. It is formulated for black hair and is very gentle and moisturizing.

What are some good products for African-American hair?

My hair is very dry, itchy, %26amp; flaky. What are some good products that I can use to end these problems and help promote growth? Has anyone used Natural Oasis before??

What are some good products for African-American hair?

Itchy? Try putting a 1/4 Apple cider vinegar and 4 cups water mix on your hair and scalp after conditioning it.

Do this weekly:

1)shampoo with Creme of Nature

2)Deep condition with Organic Root Stimulator pack

3)apply a leave-in or Lottabody setting lotion (dilute it with water)

4)Put magnetic rollers in your hair and rollerset it(http://healthytextures.typepad.com/my_jo... )

5)Wrap your hair and put saran wrap over it. Sit under the dryer for 15 minutes http://healthytextures.typepad.com/my_jo...

About products:

just because you are black does not mean you are limited to the "ethnic" section of the hair aisle! This is a common misconception! tHERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "BLACK HAIR PRODUCTS" AND "WHITE HAIR PRODUCTS". I hate hearing ppl say that, but i used to think that too. Anyways, most African American hair products are BAD for you! The only ones i hear good reviews about are:

*Organics Root Stimulator

*Elasta QP

*Design Essentials

*Lekair Cholesterol

*And I think "African Pride Braid Spray"

*keracare(this is salon product though)

*Proclaim

*Aphogee

*fantasia IC

Avoid "Motions", profectiv, and that B%26amp;B stuff please! lol they suck. And do not use that crappy Pink lotion. If "mineral oil" or "petrolatum" is at the beginning of the ingredients list, do not purchase that product!

keep your hair moisturized. This is as simple as wetting it in the shower, or wetting your hands and running them through your hair. DO NOT buy any moisturizer that has MINERAL OIL or PETROLATUM! care free curl gold and s-curl are popular moisturizers. Do NOT use that Pink lotion!

Whats the best shampoo and conditioner for African American hair?

My hair has really been thinning and breaking. I don't know how to prevent it or restore my growth. I always had long thick hair and now its slowly losing its strength and thickness. What are some good tips?

Whats the best shampoo and conditioner for African American hair?

I used to have the same problem with shedding, the thinning and breakage. My hair lost its strength due to overprocessing. My hair is very thick but with a good grain that would wave as my new growth began to come in. Well to make a long story short. I used to wear ponytails alot and ended up creating my own hair line in the back. I visited a hair stylist recommended by a co-worker and she began treating my hair for the damage. Here a few things that she did and advised me to maintain in between appointments:

1. She deep conditioned my hair (I would have to sit with a plastic cap on under the hair dryer for 15 mins. every two weeks.

2. She only used oil in my hair instead of grease and moisturizers. (Hot Six Oil to be exact; which could be used as a hot oil treatment among other things. They are all listed on the bottle.)

3. She would flat-iron my hair to extend my perm past the usual "4 - 6" period. I would go a least another 4 weeks before getting another perm.

4. She recommended that I used a silk or satin scarf or pillow case to sleep with at night because other fabrics tend to dry your hair and also increase breakage.

Since then, I have gone completely natural. I cut all of my hair off and as it grew out I cut the remainder of the perm out in phases. My hair is thicker than before and I love the natural look. I tend to use organic products instead of commercial products because of the ingredients they contain. You'll be amazed at what you find out. Email me if you have any other questions.

I also just bought pantene's shampoo and conditioner to make hair stronger, haven't tried it yet.

But up to now i haven't found anything that works on black hair. Most of the shampoos out there only work for white ppl

Up to now i cant find a good site that offers good beauty tips especially for black ppl. Especially hair care and makeup

Whats the best shampoo and conditioner for African American hair?

I would highly recommend using Nioxin shampoo and conditioners. Just simply log onto nioxin.com and there should be charts where you can find the best shampoo and conditioner for your hair. This is the best product, i think, out there that people who have thinning hair can use.

and Im only 15.

what should i do?

How do i get long healthy african american hair?

stay away from greasy products, just use natural oils like shea butter and dont use relaxers if u have one dont put any chemicals in it either, stay away from any alcohols in your hair products, it makes the hair dry and coarse. alot of african americans think that hair grease is good for the hair but its not and stay away from pertroleum and mineral oil it builds up on the hair and it prevents your hair from growing and leaves this nasty feeling to your hair, keep it natural no chemicals, and take alot of vitamins with b and amino proteins in the vitamin that provide healthy looking hair. and try washing you hair with rogaine-womens for the thinning in the front and it should grow back for sure.oh and also dont pull your hair back to tight, that could lead to severe balding in the front and can cause your hair to never grow back .

How do i get long healthy african american hair?

JUST GET YA HAIR PERMED AND TRIM THE DEAD ENDS AND PUT IT IN A WRAP KEEP GETTIN IT WASHED EVERY WEEK AND CONDITION AND EVERY MONTH GET IT PERMED TRIMMED AND KEEP IN WRAP GIRL YA HAIR WILL GROW REAL TALK Report It

well when ur younger ur hair grows nice n faster b/c of the exercise n deit u've grown up with...i had the same problem u have i use to have long hair down where my bra strap is and i choped it to ear length and it took awhile to grow back...but now its past my clavical...took 2yrs to find the best way to grow it back...what i do is i use oil base condionter n shampoo and precondition my hair b4 i wash it like hot oil treatments or put cond. on the ends of my hair then i wash it and i leave a lil put of cond. on the ends to keep it perfect from the heat n also from brushin it like crazy..i also take prenatal vitamins which help b/c of the folic aicd and vitamin b...also just trim the ends where u see a split end not to much just enough so it won't go ne higher...if u try this method it should help the hair to come back nice b/c i told my friend the same thing n she can't stop tellin me thank u

How do i get long healthy african american hair?

all i can say is let it be natrual - keep it moisturized - dont straightin it cover it with a wig - i dont care what anyone says about braids if theyre done too tight they will break your hair - use a spray on detangler when combing it out - jus dont continue useing a lot of chemicals on your hair - and prenatal vitamans will help your hair and nails grow -

How do i get long healthy african american hair?

Wash it often, like at least 2x a week, use strengthening and moisturizing creams that contain no petroleum or mineral oil. Don't use rubber bands, in fact don't wear ponytails at all, they cause hairline baldness. Comb your hair less and follow the technique of the Crown and Glory, look it up on yahoo. If you have any questions at all email me.

How do i get long healthy african american hair?

First of all try taking a vitamins for hair growth((eat healthy)....Get aphogee treatment for damage hair....Avoid putting any sort of chemical in your hair until you have repaired the damaged..... Deep condition your hair every week.......keep your hair well conditioned...keep your hair moisturized.......tye your hair at night.......massage your scalp at night......Last use a growth oil on your scalp but the key is to keep your hair well conditioned and moisterized......

How can I spike my short african american hair?

I have been told if you mold it , sit under the dryer to dry , then add gel while running your finger through it will work. I want a cute funky messy spike do like Nia Long, or Melinda Williams. someone told me to also try ceramic flat iron. Can someone please tell me a step by step process? , I am really bad at the hair thing. Thanks

How can I spike my short african american hair?

Wash iit, blow dry it, take some jel and mold it into spikes, then take some sprites and flat iron it. Or you can go to a hair dresser that can show you

How can I spike my short african american hair?

you need v05 extreme hold hair gel!!! It's tough stuff and you don't need a dryer to hold it, its like cement but washes out well!!!

How can I spike my short african american hair?

Get a short hair cut, leave the top a little longer than the sides and the back. The longer pieces use point cutting technique to make it peicey. You wont even have to use any gel or any product, just run your fingers through it and go. Thats how my hair is cut and for more of a funky effect get a wild color.

How can I spike my short african american hair?

straighten it with a hot comb, then use "let's jam(extra strength)" to spike it, then sit under the dryer for 20 mins, thatll do it!

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

im desperate to find a hair straightener on my poofy unruly hair without damaging it badly! please look at the pic and offer your help!

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q190/...

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

What beautiful, thick hair you have. That is a blessing. Your hair is not poofy..it is really full. Full hair is wonderful and you will be grateful for it as you grow older.

I don't recommend that you straighten your hair more than 1x a week..because, no matter what straightener you buy, heat is damaging. CHI makes great ceramin straighteners that are expensive, but protect the hair shaft.

You can also use styling products that will make your hair more soft and straight without stripping it of its nutrients.

Try Beauty 4 Ashes GodHead products; they are all natural and have straightened my new growth wonderfully after 2 months between relaxers. They also have doubled my hair growth rate. I receive so many compliments on my hair. You can also try Carol's Daughter, although many of her products are not all natural, her hair milk is great for softening the hair.

Also, treat your hair to home conditioning masks.

Mix 1/4 cup of Mayonnaise

1 T of Honey

1 T Olive Oil

1/2 tsp Lemon Juice

Allow to remain on your hair for 30-60 minutes. Do this before you wash your hair. It will straighten and moisturize your hair. It will look fabulous after your blow dry and flat iron. It will also reduce damage to your hair.

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

looks straight to me...

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

a CHI, solia, or ghd for fast but if u dont care about it being fast any ceramic straightener turned all the way up as high as the temperature will go

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

try the chi straightener...its about $200 bucks but worth it since it doesn't do heavy damage to your hair. other than that, i would go with straightening irons with ceramic plates.

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

okay, you're not ugly for one. People on here just get a kick out of being assholes. lol.

I would definitly talk to a stylist. They can suggest one according to your hair type and cost range. good luck

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

I like the maxius, although, I am not african american. I think you could use it too.

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

I have hair JUST like yours, i am not even kidding. I could never wear my hair down until i bought the Maxi-Glide by Maxius. It is the best straightener out there, and the only one that worked on my hair (on level 10) its got steam to keep the hair shiny and silky, even if it is really textured. The only problem is the 80 dollar price tag, but if i add together all the straighteners i bought before this, it is not even a fraction of the cost.

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

You're lucky, you have long, pretty straight hair.

Dark and Lovely, Sof'n'Free are two of my faves.

Former comes with shampoo but damages quite a bit over regular use. Cheaper too! It breaks the hair, so it looks really frizzy, which kinda defeats the cause.

Latter is a teensy bit more expensive, but gives hair a shiny, smoooth look.

Good*luck

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

what's funny is that when a girl looks at her hair she automatically thinks "puffy" or "frizzy" so she looks for products that say they'll stop such a thing... it doesn't work trust me. I fought this for yrs and now i'm really happy... what you need is oil. I KNOW IT SOUNDS CRAZY, some ppl even call it "dirty" but hey, i dont see anyone complaining when they get a first look at my shiny stay-still hair!! I use PALMER'S olive oil, the one already in a bottle and in liquid form (not the creme) or butter as they call it. you can find it online or search online 2 c what local beauty supply carries it. It leaves ur hair still, makes it look a little longer, shiny as if u just took a shower and not only that, it has a GREAT scent!!! which not to bragg but (guys love it) lol, and its esp. perfect for colored hair i have blonde n brown streaks... Or you can use a natural way.. i believe its called "alinasa" and they sell it in the market, just bring it to a broil and use the liquid on ur hair

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

I have curly hair like yours. And I use Sedu flat iron. It keeps your hair straight as long as it doesn't get wet. When I got mine it was really expensive: $140. But you can use any CERAMIC flat iron, like chi (a really popular brand). For your type of hair, I don't recommend "Cheap" irons. I tried one thay was about $40, and it didn't work AT ALL. I'm serious, if you want silky straight hair buy a good quality one ($80-$200) and use it with frizz-ease. Good Luck! %26lt;3

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

You are beautiful Honey. Some idiots just can't piss straight.

ANYWAY!!!

I use Conair Infiniti Instant Heat Ceramic 2" Straightener. It's about $50 so you're not breaking the bank. Also, a 2 inch Round Ion Shine Ceramic Brush used with a Salon Style Blow dryer works wonders. It also gives you shine. To keep your hair from being damage try this line of products for Afro American women.

http://www.strengthofnature.com/index.as...

These products stopped my hair from breaking due to relaxers, and protected my hair from the stresses of styling day to day. In my first month, it added so much nutrients to my hair. I had 2 inches of new growth in a month and a half.

What straightener should i use on my african american hair?*PIC PROVIDED*?

wow my hair looks like that except its a bit thicker , longer and tighter curl. i suggest a stove top hot comb. they sale them at salley's. lots of people tell me to get chi so u could try that, i haven't tried it so i can't recommend it to you. and you put grease on your hair wont get damaged.

How to take a break from relaxers?

Im African American and have been relaxing my hair for a few years now. How can you take a break from relaxers without hair becoming damaged/ breaking off or having to starting over?

How to take a break from relaxers?

It depends on whether your hair has a tendency to break. I have relaxed my hair for about 6 years. I stopped about a year ago, but my hair didn't break at all. I have strong, thick hair though. My hair usually doesn't break at all unless I apply too much heat to my hair. * by straightening it every day* However, if you want to ensure that your hair will not break because it has a tendency to, you can apply braids in your hair or have a weave sewn in. That will protect your hair, and probably allow it to grow because it will be in braids the entire time. Try to stay away from glue-in weaves though because the glue can take some of your hair out just because it's glue.

If you want to wear your natural hair * without braids, or weaves* and just not apply a relaxer, make sure that you get a good leave in conditioner. You MUST keep your hair moisturized. Stay away from products with mineral oil and high alcohol content, those ingredients dry out the hair and cause damage.

I would recommend Redken or Rusk line for your hair. If you want a straight hairstyle also try the Straightline products. For straight I would recommend Rusk or Curly Sexy Hair.

If you have any more questions feel free to email me, trust me I've been in your situation! :]

Hope that helps!

How to take a break from relaxers?

well, you can keep it in braids for awhile.

How to take a break from relaxers?

im african american as well iam taking a break from perms for a year. you should get ur hair braided instead of perms it really helps

How to take a break from relaxers?

you could get it pressed. Or braided. Or you could just wear it naturally.

How to take a break from relaxers?

I took a break from relaxers by doing braids then a weave. Those damaged my hair more than the relaxer ever would have.

My edges (hairline) has still not recovered and it's been over 2 years, and my formerly thick hair is now thin.

I ended up getting it all cut off and starting from scratch to make it healthy again.

My Mom wanted to get rid of perms for good, so she did a press and curl with regular trims until her hair was all natural.

How to take a break from relaxers?

Go natural, wear micros, kinky twist, french braids, cornrows or a weave wrap.

Does anyone know any good hair salons specilizing in african american hair in the woodbridge va area

My daughter is getting ready for her first relaxer . She has a lot of hair and I am looking for a high quality salon. Thanks

Does anyone know any good hair salons specilizing in african american hair in the woodbridge va area?

how old is she? if she is still a kid. then you want the kiddie perms available in drugstores. salon relaxers might be to harsh for her virgin hair. the directions on the kiddie perms are so easy to follow.

Does anyone know any good hair salons specilizing in african american hair in the woodbridge va area?

Sorry I don't. Maybe you can ask someone on bhfsource.ning.com. Is a site where you can ask people about beauty, hair, and fashion. Maybe someone might know the answer. Actually, one of the members used to live in Woodbridge, so she may know.

How old should a girl be to be able to wear a weave?

i'm 13, african american, and i have long thick hair. i've always worn braids. occasionaly, i've worn it flat ironed. school's about to start, and i want to style my hair so that it can rest from all of the ironing. should a wear a weave or braids? my mom says i don't need a weave cus i've got enough hair of my own. if you suggest braids, can you show me some cool styles for teens?

thanx

How old should a girl be to be able to wear a weave?

13 on up is a good age to get a weave....but if you want to change your look then weave will be ok

How old should a girl be to be able to wear a weave?

I've got weaves in my hair when I was seven or eight years old. It really depends on the parent. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you get a sensible style for your age. As for braids, I've seen three year olds with braids. I've worn braids all my life, and I have never had a problem with it.

Does using coconut oil on hair have quick results for African American hair? or any hair? how quick?

Preferably(sp) someone with experience...i really want my hair to grow!!!

: D

thank ya.

Does using coconut oil on hair have quick results for African American hair? or any hair? how quick?

Well, there are many types of coconut oil. Let me share to you some info.

Using 'refined' coconut oil is somewhat good for your type of hair, it can moisturise your hair, but it would not last long because of the nutrients lost during process.

I think you should use 'virgin' coconut oil. As for my experience and with my type of hair (Asian, wavy and very exposed to elements), it did not only moisturise my hair, but also protects it from potential damage from excessive styling and environmental stresses. That means, you can protect your hair from breakage to keep your hair growing long.

Virgin coconut oil is produced in the Philippines only, so look for some vendors of it on eBay or any other site.

olive oil works best..........................

Does using coconut oil on hair have quick results for African American hair? or any hair? how quick?

It's a nice moisturizer for the hair, which can help prevent damage, but it's not going to make hair grow any quicker.

Does using coconut oil on hair have quick results for African American hair? or any hair? how quick?

I use coconut oil all the time. It must be pure though. Coconut oil has made my hair very manageable. I am black and jewish. Are you trying to grow hair? If so, take 2 tbls. apple cider vinegar in a glass of water 2-3 x day for its 93 vitamins and minerals. Hair and nails will grow. Lose weight with vinegar too. Take the same remedy, but before a meal. Vinegar also cures depression, acne, and aids digestion. I use both products all the time. I also use the coconut oil on my face too.

Does using coconut oil on hair have quick results for African American hair? or any hair? how quick?

Coconut Oil is a natural oil that can supply vital nutrients to your hair. Hair generally does not grow, or breaks, because it lacks the natural oils needed to moisturize the strands. Thus, coconut oil, specially cold pressed, virgin coconut oil, can help your hair growth.

However, coconut oil alone will not be enough to grow your hair.If you really want your hair to grow fast you will need a great hair growth regimen, which consists of three components: a healthy eating plan, substantial water intake, and a high quality hair growth and hair care product.

Step One: Buy a High Quality Hair Growth Product

Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains powerful essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Neem, Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Jojoba Oil, Rosemary, and Sage. Make sure you stray away from all natural products that use natural extracts. Extracts are not as powerful as essentials oils. They are a cheap substitute for the real thing. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, not all hair growth products are created equal. Make sure you read the fine print. Most 閳ユ笜atural閳?products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. My advice---if you can閳ユ獩 read the ingredients, don閳ユ獩 buy the product. When I was searching for a natural hair growth products for my clients, I found one really great buy, Beauty 4 Ashes Super Hair Growth System. The system includes hair growth vitamins, a great hair healthy eating plan, and even scalp stimulating hair growth exercise routine. You can find it easily at www.discoverb4a.com.

Step Two: A Healthy Hair Eating Plan

Your hair is all protein. Thus, you need a protein rich diet, chocked fill of B Vitamins and other hair-strengthening nutrients. Increase your intake of fish. It is full of healthy proteins and essential fatty acids and natural oils your hair needs. In addition, drink a protein supplement or shake everyday.

Step Three: Drink Water

Eight to ten glasses of water is an absolute requirement. Drinking water flushes your body of toxins, chemicals, and impurities that stifle your hair growth and disrupt your hormone and enzyme imbalances.

Is Aloe Vera Cholesterol good for african-american hair types?

It's a super detangling formula. Lustrasilk cholesterol with Aloe Vera is carefully formulated with deep conditioning agents that treat extremely damaged hair. Aloe Vera extract has been added for increased moisturizing properties and to provide extra protection from hot curling irons and blow dryer.

Ingredients:

Water, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol and Polysorbate 60, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cholesterol, Aloe Vera Gel, Silk Amino Acids, Rosehips Extract, Soybean Oil, Safflower Oil, Peanut Oil, Vitamin E, Mineral Oil, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, DMDM Hydantoin, Yellow 5, Fragrance

Is Aloe Vera Cholesterol good for african-american hair types?

I think that any super moisturizing conditioner will do. I like all of the cholesterol conditioners. I have super tangle hair when I wash it. and unfortunately I am also super tender -headed. I put it on wrap my head in a plastic shower cap and sit under the drier for 20 minutes. I can easily comb my hair after that. It leaves my hair extra soft but them I still have to flat iron it straight. What you have to understand is that once you rinse the stuff out you need a thermal protector for your hair that you use before doing your hair. Try the Panteene brand of thermal protector that is what I use.

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

iim an african american woman and ii was wondering how come our hair doesnt grow or it takes a long time to grow while woman of other cultures and ethincities hair grows fast? And how can ii make my hair grow longer?

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

The only time your hair is not growing is when the hair follicles in your head are dead. I'm a Black female and I had the same questions as you have of why my hair wasn't growing. The main reason why many black people have a difficult time growing their hair long is that it breaks off as fast as it grows due to its inability to hold on to essential oils and our use of products that aid in stripping our already dry hair. Hair products containing alcohol, petroleum, mineral oil do NOTHING for our hair! Also, grease products coat the hair rather than moisturize and when placed on the scalp, clogs the hair follicles inhibiting hair growth. In order to grow your hair, you need to shampoo frequently (dirty pores slow hair growth), moisturize every day with oils and strengthen the hair externally with proteins and amino acids. Don't believe the gimmicks about taking hair growth vitamins - I tried it and it doesn't work. The only way to grow our hair is to change the way we maintain it. Trimming the ends won't make your hair grow either...it's only trimmed for an aesthetic purpose to even out the hair to make it "look" healthier. Also throw away your brushes and blow dryer as well - brushes rip out our fragile hair and blow dryers dry it out even more! I know all of this because I've done these things for 20+ years almost to the point of baldness before I understood why my hair wasn't growing. I'm 28 years old and my hair is now past my shoulders...it's never been this long ever in my life. Hope this helps :-)

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

My hair grows very fast because i do exercise and gymnastics and run quite often and that makes me feel hot and sweaty and my hairdresser told me hair grows quicker in the summer because we sweat and blood pumps round the body faster.i may be wrong i dont know but my hair grows really fast! Report It

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

im not sur y that is but u could try ( =

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

Of course our hair grows, just like everyone else. How are you wearing your hair? Is it relaxed, pressed, natural? The different styling tools we use may weaken the hair, and give it an appearance of not growing. Too much heat, pulling, tight styles, etc. Genetics are also a factor.

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

Chocolatefreak123, You're an @$$. And to answer the topic question: I'm African American and our hair does grow but it grows slowly. Our hair is thick and we use alot of chemicals to straighten it, but they also slow the growth of hair and can damage it. I suggest that you press your hair, instead of using a perm or relaxer, and keep it in braids, preferably kinky twists. If you do this your hair is bound to grow longer, you'll see big results in about 3 months.

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

Our hair does grow, stop using hair grease, anything with petroleum or mineral oil hinders growth. Also you have to wash it often.

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

I am 100% black and my hair is to my butt. I'm 20 years old. I've learned that the way we maintain our hair is what's unhealthy. I don't perm it, I don't use gel or any chemicals. No color or excessive heat. Try it natural for a while, only using shampoo, conditioner and oil. I wash my hair and style it with conditioner while its still wet. When it drys it acts as a gel (without the breakage). I use pantene for colored women. Try to stay away from braids even though they are convinient. Also if you get it pressed try to get it done every 2 weeks. Also get a regular trim. I hope I helped.

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

Black people are the only race that does not have natural oils in our hair, which is why our hair requires grease/moisturizers to remedy that. With that being said, hair needs oils and moisture to grow, so it's easier (faster) to grow when you're body produces it naturally. It's hard work, but with regular washings and being sure to constantly moisturize, our hair can grow just as fast. In the mean time, exude confidence by working with what you've got!!

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

BLACK HAIR IS SOFT. THAT MEANS THE NAPPIER IT LOOKS, THE SOFTER IS. SOFT HAIR IS PRONE TO BREAKAGE WHEN IT'S NOT CARED FOR PROPERLY.

ONE HAS TO TAKE THEIR TIME WHEN STYLING BLACK HAIR.

SECONDLY, IT NEEDS MOISTURE. THE MOISTURE HELPS KEEP THE HAIR SHAFT FROM DRYING OUT, WHICH YIELDS MORE BREAKAGE, AND KEEPS THE ROOTS MOIST. UNDER THE AUSPICES, THAT THE HAIR AND SCALP IS CLEAN AND CONDITIONED, THE HAIR SHOULD GROW LIKE A HEALTHY WEED.

IF U LIVE LIKE THE MODERN DAY WOMAN AND IS LOOKING FOR AN EASY WAY TO MANAGE HER HAIR AND DON'T HAVE TIME TO COMB THE HAIR OUT, THEN YOU'RE THE PRIME CANDIDATE FOR A PERM/RELAXER.

THE KEY IS TO TAKE YOUR TIME IN COMBING IT OUT. OUR HAIR IS NATURALLY CURLY.

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

Actually -- it does grow and many have hair that

grows rather quickly and also does not break off.

A site that may be of interest to you is:

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

It depends on how you take care of yourself. Drink plenty of water, eat a more balanced diet, get those split ends clipped regularly, don't use heat or chemicals too much and use a protein-based shampoo and conditioner weekly to have healthier hair.

It'll also depend on genetics. My and my sister's hair grows relatively fast (1/4 to 1/2 inch each month) so when it's braided it'll look old within a month.

Hope this info helps!

How come African American womans hair doesnt grow ,or its slow to grow??

African American hair grows just like any other hair. And it actually comes in all kinds of textures, from smooth and wavy to coarse and kinky (the type I have). Hair that is very coarse and highly textured tends to be drier and more delicate than hair that is smooth. The coarser and more textured the hair, the harder it is for the scalp's natural oils to flow down the hair shaft. This is why many people of African descent tend to have hair that is drier and more delicate than other types of hair. As a result it breaks more easily than other types of hair. This gives the false impression that it does not grow. To keep the hair on your head from breaking off using gentle hair care techniques and gentle hair care products and you will notice your hair growth. Avoid brushing, tight braids, tight curlers, flat ironing every day, relaxers (which cause unecessary breakage in most people who get them), etc. Use products made with natural vegetable oils. Avoid mineral oil and petrolatum in your hair care products.

What type of products would you suggest for african american hair?

So i have a relaxer and a had my hair dyed a very dark brown (not at the same time) and its really thick. Its pretty long too. I have noticed that its shedding alot more than it used to and im getting split ends easier than i used to. what type of things would you suggest to get my hair really healthy? this can include products, vitamins, overall diet, or just some really good words of advice.

What type of products would you suggest for african american hair?

Here, first I want to show you a link of my hair. It was past bra strap length, I cut it Jan 07, and it's already grown back to my bra strap. But I am very WARY of taking advice about hair when I can't see the hair of the person so:

http://fiu.facebook.com/album.php?aid=20...

Here you go, that's all mine.

Now:

You should roller set your hair every week. Roller setting your hair distributes low heat over a long time when underneath a dryer. I cannot stress the importance of roller setting to have and keep healthy hair.

Shampoo with a protein shampoo (I use Redken Extreme shampoo) because relaxing robs hair of protein.

Then deep condition (I order Mizani's Hydrafuse online bc they don't sell it to the public, just to the salons AND I mix it with KeraCare Humecto) for about 5-15 minutes UNDER THE DRYER. This is very important, the heat opens up your cuticles. Wash it out with cool water to close it. Relaxing dries out your hair.

Your hair needs a healthy balance of protein and moisture.

After that use a leave-in conditioner. I use KeraCare Leave-In, it is very concentrated so you don't have to use much and it is very, very good at protecting your hair against heat and other damaging factors including sun, wind, etc. I also use Nexxus' leave in conditioner called Luxxtress. It replenishes moisture AND has a bit of protein in it.

I used to use Design Essentials setting lotion, it is incredible for roller sets for me. So I have two leave in conditioners and a setting lotion in my freshly moisturized (deep conditioner, leave in conditioner) and strengthened (with the protein shampoo and part Luxxtress) hair. My hair is protected and happy.

I don't use setting or foaming lotions anymore though. I just use the two leave in conditioners and a serum.

You don't have to use only ONE brand's products. As you can see, I have mixed it up till I found the perfect matches for my hair.

When I take it out my curls are shiny and bouncy and full. I go to the salon bc I can't roller set my own hair but I can roller set other people's lol. You wouldn't believe the looks my hair gets. People always ask me if it's my own and I proudly say yes. After you take out your roller set, wrap your hair. Or you can get the roots blown out.

Wrap your hair at night with a silk scarf, it's so important to keeping your hair moisturized. Use a silk/satin pillowcase just in case your wrap falls out.

I know that money doesn't grow on trees but I promise if you invest your money on high-quality hair products, your hair will thank you.

You might also need a trim or cut because may have split ends. ONLY trim if you have split ends, other than that you have no reason to trim your hair every time you go get a relaxer or roller set your hair.

Also, you can start trying taking supplements. I used to use GNC's Ultranourishair, Biotin, and MSM. All these things are good for your hair. HOWEVER, if after 3 months you don't see improvement (and I mean look at your roots) then stop taking them. Some people don't metabolize synthetic vitamins as well as others, that's why you see some people swear by them and some don't. They help maximize your own hair growth POTENTIAL along with a good diet. They worked for me but I became too lazy.

I think this covers it all but you can always ask for more, I love to help people with relaxed hair! A lot of people hate on us and say we should go natural but there is such thing as healthy relaxed hair that you can grow long and thick as I have!

Honestly....Does he like me?HELP!?

I posted this earlier, but I'm still so unsure and I'm being really insecure about the whole situation.

1)Him and I used to be really close until he told his at the time gf that I keep on flirting with him which I of course denied to her twice.

2)He all of a sudden quit talking to me and now ignores me everytime we pass eachother in the hallway{Well, he'll hug me,or he'll nod/wave}

3)He called me baby one day in the lunch line

4)My bff "who would NEVER lie to me" told me that he said he like an african american girl with short, black hair that has a myspace..which I just happen to be all of those

5)Weeks before he asked about me at the movies to my bff beforeasking about any other chick!

6)I always have to be the one to make the first move now to talk and the game is getting really old!

7)The day school was out Antonio{Joey's bff} blurted out "Sophie,Joey like u".I gave him an ugly look because he said it in a sarcastic tone.Joey went along with it and said "ya,i love you"

Honestly....Does he like me?HELP!?

He is playing with you,he likes the idea you like him and coz you keep making moves on him( coz you are ) which he notices,he is teasing you.

It's time you stand away from him and let him chase you coz he is on a power trip of control with you.

If he is really interested then he will persue you, you have made it clear your interested , then it's up to him. cheers 閳?br>Honestly....Does he like me?HELP!?

Sophie,

He is playing you and you are falling into his trap. Trap- when you fall for him he know he can get you and if he gets control of you then he can go wit another girl but he can also break up with that girl and go straight to you.Hallway- he is not going to admit he likes you in front of your friends or in school then he really doesn't care...a hug once in a while sure that's fine but its just a friend thing...ask him if he want to do something on the weekends. If there is a connection he feel and you feel then he truly loves you

i hope this helps=]

Ask your adopted family. We can't tell you whether your bi-racial or not. One we don't know what you look like and two we don't know your family history. For the most part the majority of black people are mixed somewhere down the line but it's really up to you to ask your adopted family if it is bothering you that much.

I'm Light Skin African American %26amp; my Hair is Diffrent?

First use spell check. second black people come in all shades and hair types, as do bi-racial people. I know plently of mixed peole(besides myself) and we are all differant. bascially you shouldn't worry about it, just be yourself.

my hair is pretty fine, and in my experience garnier fructus is okay. fyi, herbal essences dries my hair out, AND to get your hair extremely soft and silky i recommend 'inner science' shampoo, conditioner and hairspray. i may not have african-american hair, but when i was younger i dyed it too much, it became straw like and rough, but inner science brought it back to its original silkiness.

Does L'oreal Feria work well on African American hair?

I'm thinking of dying my hair a dark burgundy color and my natural hair is super black. I also have a relaxer in my hair. Should I go ahead and try Feria I bought a box last week.

Does L'oreal Feria work well on African American hair?

Yes feria works well on black hair, but with you having really black hair it wont take. But DONT BLEACH your hair if you have a relaxer IT WILL FALL OUT!!!! trust me I know. The best thing to do is going to a salon so they can lift the black from your hair and then the color sholud take.

Does L'oreal Feria work well on African American hair?

you would have to bleach it a little first, as the dye wont show up on black hair.

i love african hair though, dont dye it. (:

I want to become a model, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions, con

I'm 5'8, slim, pretty, exoctic features, African- American: light brown skin, brown hair, dark brown eyes, and 18 yrs. old.

If anyone knows of anything to help me, your help would be greatly appreciated. I've been told a lot that I should try modeling, but so far I've been focused on school. Modeling and fashion is my passion but I'm not sure how to get started in the fashion industry... Help please

I want to become a model, but I don't know where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions, connections, ideas?

first, check your priorities, make sure its want you want, you can inquire at local modeling agencies, about the process, or you can try and audition for roles, it's a very competitive market so it'll be a bit hard, and you have to prepare yourself for the things that the job asks for as well as rejection, though your just about to begin or begining, rejections can come as early as now, being pretty will no ensure you a job but its mostly the attitude and the willingness to strive and prove that you are dedicated to the job, personally what i did was inquired at agency's and they asked me for my portofolio, most agencies will give an average contract with a span of 2 to 3 months and if you book their client quota their most likely to extend your contract, but you can also work as a freelance model, but if you do, you'll need an agent, unlike being in an agency where they will be your handlers.

Am I black or white?

My father is Spanish from Spain in Europe, so he's white. My mother is African-American. I have curly brown hair, green eyes and fair skin. I look somewhat white, but I'm not really. So what am I?

Am I black or white?

You are who you are.

Am I black or white?

Human.

Am I black or white?

You are Black and White. You shouldn't be forced to 'choose' a race. Why deny part of your culture?

Am I black or white?

You are mixed race or some would say half caste. Your parents who provide half your genes each are of to different races.

Am I black or white?

You're mix-race

Am I black or white?

In my mind you are who you are, not what you are...revel in both cultures.

Am I black or white?

Bi-racial, or of mixed race. You can call yourself whichever you like.

Am I black or white?

so is my bf, his mother is from sevilla and father is african-american and he considers himself both.

Am I black or white?

why woud you ask such a question on yahoo answers??

ask your parents, ask yourself.

Am I black or white?

Mixed.

Am I black or white?

you are half blooded,,

moreover

a human being,, that is enough.

Am I black or white?

You are you we should judge by the color of ours skin, but for who we are. I come from the south where I was taught other that people of a dark skin color were not good. Over the years I have learn that is wrong, I am trying to rise my to judge people for who they are not by skin color.

Am I black or white?

A member of the human race!

Am I black or white?

I would call you a beautiful woman period.

Am I black or white?

a moron!

Am I black or white?

well genetically, you're bi-racial. But you are whatever you identify with. I'm 1/4 black and I identify black but my sister doesn't.

Am I black or white?

biracial DUH

Am I black or white?

You are a human being! God's child do not get caught up in these boxes society has categorized for people. I'm supposed to be African American but I don't agree with that. I am who I am... not a color not a race just me! And you are too. Love yourself and don't worry about which box to check!

Am I black or white?

You are whatever you choose

Am I black or white?

Biracial.

Am I black or white?

your mixed man

Am I black or white?

white+white= white. My aunt who is Nigerian is married to an Irish man. They have two boys. One has red hair like his dad and the other has green eyes like his dad. They are also fair in skin complexion, but not really white looking. Are they white? NO. Are they black? NO. They are BIRACIAL.

Am I black or white?

mixed .. mulatto

Am I black or white?

You are what you say you are. You can belong to the superior African race or the white race. The third option (which most biracial people don't take) is calling yourself biracial. However most biracial peoples will consider themselves to be Black as will society per se the 1/8 laws. Derek Jeter, for instance, is referred to as Black by the media, not biracial. Obviously, i don't know how you look. It's possible you could "pass" for white, if in fact, that is your goal. This question was rather vague. But the bottom line is you're a mixture and society will call you whatever they do based on your appearance. Although you sound like you may look hispanic; so you'll probably have people talking to you in spanish like my light-skinned Black friend does.

Am I black or white?

you sound like one hot chick to me

Am I black or white?

You are both. Love both sides of you equally!!!!

Am I black or white?

you are a mixed individual - be proud of it

Am I black or white?

Human, Mixed, Yourself

Am I black or white?

You are a human being. Why are you stressing so much to define yourself into one classification or another. Simply be yourself... A human being... God bless****

Am I black or white?

biracial

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid questio

When you have your hair braided tightly in (what used to be called) corn rows...how do you tighten up the base as your hair grows...do you have to undo each one and rebraid it? Or can you just let it grow as is for a while. I know that other types of hair can do this as well and I hope this isn't too stupid a question...but there are no black people around here..so I can't really ask anyone..I'm asking on the GLBT site 'cause thats where I usually hang out . Thanks

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

It's a pain in the butt! Did it once, never do it again!! The braiding took FOREVER!!

But to answer your question you have to start all over again, especially if the hair that's growing in has to be treated.

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

You don't have to re-braid it for about two weeks because the new hair growth grows in between the corn rows.

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

what?

are you planning on braiding your hair or something?

PS: wrong category.

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

Haha that wasn't a stupid question. I'd definitely never thought about that. But now I know!

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

Interesting question.

I look forward to reading the answers. Could you "add a detial" as to where did this originate ?

Best wishes. Rose P.

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

rebraid it!!

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

No you just let it grow untill you take them back out again!

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

That's not a stupid question - or, at least, I've wondered it before now. Careful that you don't get another violation for "Miscategorised" though...

Since I just answered a question about African-American hair...I want to ask a really stupid question.?

Wrong forum.

Why some ignorant people think that all Mexicans are short and have dark skin?

It is like, to think that all Americans are white, blond hair, and blue eyes which is NOT TRUE AT ALL. I have lived in many parts of the country and I have met people who have English last names and call themselves "whites" and are not blond ,don't have blue eyes and many of them have brown skin and Iam not talking about African Americans. Also I have seen many girls who dye their hair blond... does that make you white? Because

the Steriotype for "white" is pale skin natural blond hair and blue eyes. I THINK ALL AMERICA NOW IS MIXED

In Mexico you find all races too but some ignorant Americans get really surprise or even piss off when you are white and Mexican. Like if the "white" people in the USA are white because of their Native American heritage and not European. I never seen a PAPAGO with blond hair and blue eyes. There a lot of nativeamericans too but they were pushed aside to not get noticed. Most of the Mex people who inmigrated to the USA are the poorest peopl

Why some ignorant people think that all Mexicans are short and have dark skin?

It's called a stereotyping. Stereotype production is based on:

Simplification, Exaggeration or distortion, Generalization, Presentation of cultural attributes as being 'natural,' Unshakeable belief in stability of stereotype, Racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination, Historical factors, Guilt by association, etc.

Stereotypes are seen by many as undesirable beliefs imposed to justify the acts of discrimination and oppression. It is thought that education and/or familiarization can change these misbeliefs. Other negative effects are: justification of ill-founded prejudices or ignorance, unwillingness to rethink one's attitudes and behavior towards stereotyped group, self-fulfilling prophecy for both stereotyping and stereotyped group (White people treat black people in a more hostile way due to being afraid of them. Black people accordingly react more aggressively, thus confirming the stereotype...)

Why some ignorant people think that all Mexicans are short and have dark skin?

shut up..All mexicans are short and have dark skin. sheesh, don't you know anything?

Why some ignorant people think that all Mexicans are short and have dark skin?

Hey,you answered your question with your first sentence.

Why some ignorant people think that all Mexicans are short and have dark skin?

No, no I think all Mexicans are short, with dark skin and have no necks!

Black But Blonde?

Iam a african american girl with jet black hair. Iam very very lightskinned but i want to dye my hair strawberry blonde to get an exotic look for my modeling do u think that is a good idea

Black But Blonde?

No way, strawberry blonde is too crazy, go with a bronzed color instead. It will still be beautiful and not so much "clownish." You'll be fine, and good luck with your modeling.

Black But Blonde?

No! I would honestly stay as you are - or maybe just add a chunk of your prefered color here and there - but not everywhere and certainly not the whole head. Just my opinion *Wink

Black But Blonde?

I think it's a mistake. It won't look so much exotic as unnatural. Most modeling agencies like girls who have a different look, but a natural look not an artificial one.

Black But Blonde?

When I think "exotic" as in beauty, I think dark hair and a healthy (as in not pasty pale) complexion. Unless you're going for an "exotic" as in dancer look, keep your hair color, maybe do highlights to add depth.

Black But Blonde?

I dont think strawberry blonde is a good idea. maybe very light blonde if you want to try different but I would not do a box color and only talk to your hair stylist about it first.

Black But Blonde?

No. I had strawberry blonde hair color and it was a headache to maintain the color. It would turn to looking rusty and just weird. Specially with your complextion, I suggest that you stay with your black hair.

Black But Blonde?

I don't think you should do strawberry blonde but golden blonde is good since you have light hair. I've seen it on tons of people like you and it looks quite exotic. I like it :D

So..golden blonde NOT strawberry blonde.

Black But Blonde?

The pink shades suit specially black skins (but yes, it is very difficult to keep them), but in your case, as you are pale, dark colors suit you better. The less the contrast between your hair and your skin color, the less the beauty, so jet black is indeed your best color with a bonus, it is a very matchable color. Try other dark colors, browns, dark reds...there are many.

But before you engage in changing your hair color, check your dress colors, NEVER wear browns, beiges, pale colors, anything that is like your skin color. Use all light and bright colors (like canary yellow, blue turquoise, etc) and white, and some black.

The more the contrast, the more the beauty...

Black But Blonde?

no,if you want to change your haircolor lighter dye it brown with little bit of copper highlits and a mixture of blonde with it and it will look natural

hope dat helped!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me how my african american hair will look texturized?

my hair is about 2 inches long. Im trying to see what it will look like before I invest my time and money in getting my hair textuarized professionally. If you can post the pictures or the links.

Can anyone tell me how my african american hair will look texturized?

halle with short hair.

Can anyone tell me how my african american hair will look texturized?

NICE IF YOU HAVE A SHORT CUT.

Can anyone tell me how my african american hair will look texturized?

It will look okay as long as the person knows what they are doing. Too much can cause you to look bushy or fried. Like you have alot of broken off pieces.

Can anyone tell me how my african american hair will look texturized?

YOU WILL NOT LOOK LIKE HALLE WITH SHORT HAIR UNLESS YOU ARE 1/2 WHITE. ON ANY TEXURZIER BOX WILL BE A PHOTO OF SOMEONE WITH SHORT texturized hair. go to a pharmacy and take a look.

Can anyone tell me how my african american hair will look texturized?

a texturizer looks different on all different hair types. all a texturizer is is a mild relaxer used to loosen your natural curl pattern. in order to work you hair should have some curl in it to begin with. if you have kinky textured hair with strands look like tightly wound spirals at textures would be good for you. If you have kinky textured hair with strands that look more zig zaged shaped or tightly crimped, the textueizer would make ur hair look more frizzy straight then curly. you should watch the process to rinse it out when you hair gets to the desired looseness of curl. depending on your hair type you could get curl as tight a p diddy had back in the day or as loose as eva pigford or ginuwine.

I just got a relaxer, but I really want semi permanent color. Can I wash and color a day after a rel

I am African American and have pretty strong hair. The perm didn't take very well as my hair is still pretty wavy at the roots

I just got a relaxer, but I really want semi permanent color. Can I wash and color a day after a relaxer.?

hmmm go ahead and try it since u say ur hair is strong. i'm black too and my hair is strong as well. but it can maybe make your hair dry. make sure to condition it realllllllly well. :)

I just got a relaxer, but I really want semi permanent color. Can I wash and color a day after a relaxer.?

You can color the same day with certain products. They are available at Sallys Beauty Supply and other stores like that. There is Jazzing, The Beautiful Collection by Clairol and Color Brilliance these are smei-permanant conditioning colors and are normally safe to use if your hair isn't horribly over-processed. There maybe more info on these at Sally Beauty Supplies website... I am not sure of the address, should be easy to find as it is a world wide company.

I just got a relaxer, but I really want semi permanent color. Can I wash and color a day after a relaxer.?

You can but I would make a call to the beautician that put the relaxer in your hair and get their input first, unless they told you have healthy hair. If that is the case than go ahead and color away. Just be sure the coloring kit does not have ammonia in it, if it does it is not safe to use on relaxed hair.

What's the best kind of jewelry to wear?

My school's winter ball is in a few weeks and I have the dress, but I don't know what kind of jewelry to wear.

The dress: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce... (in red; click the swatches to change the color)

I'm African-American with relaxed, shoulder-length hair and I'm wearing my hair down, either straight or with very loose curls/waves.

Thanks so much!

What's the best kind of jewelry to wear?

super cute dress!!!! love it! i think pearls would be giving a modern cute dress a classy old look. you should go with some cute and simple pieces from claires like austrian crystal which is nice (about $20) and not too cheap like costume jewelry and not to expensive like diamonds or tifffanys or anything like that. good luck and great choice!!!

What's the best kind of jewelry to wear?

Wow, that is one sexy dress [ and not one bit slutty ].

I'd add some diamond, pearl, or ruby studs, and a necklace to match. [ no dangly earrings with hair down ].

You could add a ring OR a bracelet.

What should I do with my African American hair a night to stop it from going stiff?

Ok I'm black and I go to a domican salon to get my hair done. The salon makes my hair come out nice silky and straight and most of all it moves lol. Well I just want to know how can I do that myself. I mean she uses the same stuff I have. I also would like to know how to keep it like I just came from the salon for a while?

Any help would be appreciated.

What should I do with my African American hair a night to stop it from going stiff?

you can wrap it around using bobby pins and try not to use alot of grease

What should I do with my African American hair a night to stop it from going stiff?

it's so simple

just never go a night with out wrapping it.

step one use some big clips to clip your hair around your head. you can get some at sally's

then use a strip that wraps around your head and velcro at the back.

last step tie a silk wrap on top of it. Always use silk because that's what keeps your hair silky. NEVER use cotton.

ps. no Greece or hair lotions needed.

try not to use too much hair products, it will weigh your hair down.

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

My hair is short and unmanageable. And my hair has gone through some serius heat damage!!

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

Buy loads and loads of conditioner. Regular deep mositurizing, in shower conditioner. Use handfuls of it. Soak it in your hair for at least 5 minutes at a time, as long as possible, and only shampoo the roots of your hair when you need to.. Heat activated conditioner is best. VO5 hot oil treatment is good too.

My best friend used to have this problem too. Our hair isnt really all that different when its taken care of the same. Its pretty much all marketing. When you use chemical relaxers, just like if I use hair color or perm, make sure you just deep condition it constantly. Be suspicious of "black" hair products. Lotions and grease just sit on top of your hair. It dosent soak in. 99% of it is cheap crap (ive seen the wholsesale prices) They quadruple the prices, and expect you to buy it just cause theres a black person on the front of it. The only thing good Ive seen is the pantene pro-v version, its good at soaking into thick hair.

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

Its is REALLY important to use conditioner and different natural hair products (Olive oil, beeswax, etc.) Those help. If you wanted straight hair i would suggest a hot comb or a perm, but since your hair is already damaged from heat i think you should just leave your hair in a stylish afro and make sure it becomes more healthy to striaghten it. Good luck

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

Just leave it be.....And embrace your hair no matter what texture it is.

I think Natural beauty is the best beauty...............

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

erm have u tried relaxing it?

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

If you use a relaxer it's going to damage it even more. I would suggest (if it's not already too short) cutting it as short as possible, and start from scratch. Use deep treatments weekly to make your hair healthy again. Once your hair grows out a little, you can try to use a relaxer.

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

Go to a salon!! Let them fix it for you.

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

Firstly, all Afro American hair,is unmanageable, unless you've had a perm or whatever.Just straighten it.Go to Sallys hair and beauty, and get a Ceramic Hair Straightener.DO NOT go for the most expensive straightener because the more expensive, the worse they straighten hair.Sence I do hair,The Ceramic Straightener,I use is $30,and you need to get pressing oil to straighten the hair evenly.

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

DON'T use any relaxers or any type of heat on it. too much damage! Do you're researh, check out: http://www.nappturality.com/modules/wfse... this is an awesome website with GREAT advice on African-American hair care along with this site: http://motowngirl.com/twists.php, and one more: http://www.roshini.net/journal/1999/1999... (fantastic girl who chronicles her natural hair journey). One more great site which is: http://nappyme.wordpress.com/tag/my-napp... has great advice and VIDEOS that will help you be more comfterble with your hair

Be happy being nappy/straight!

How can i get my "nappy" african american hair straight?

Hi there,

Nappy hair is only unmanageable when you don't know how to take care of it. I too had some horrible heat damage that I had to overcome. But with time and patience and some proactive efforts on my part I learned to care for my hair in its natural state. Nappy, unaltered hair is the healthiest route you can possible take. Ditch the heat and learn how to care for, style and embrace your precious nappy hair. It's the most versatile hair on the planet.

I'm extending a personal to you to come and check out my site at nappyme.wordpress.com. There you'll find tons of articles about how to care for your nappy hair. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

And as another person suggested check out some of the other resources such as Nappturality.com. Motowngirl.com, Naani.com. When you get to my site, check the blog roll for links to additional resources.

I hear your frustration but I just want you to know that you do NOT have to go this alone. There is help out there to help you learn how to manage and style your beautiful nappy hair. So don't believe the hype that you have to straighten it into oblivon in order to be conform to a standard of beauty that really isn't meant to be.

Good luck!

Nappyme.
