PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, leave those chemicals alone!!! What you really need is a good hard boars brush, a can of Murphy's hair grease(orange can), and a wave cap. First wash your hair really well and use a good conditioner(mane%26amp;tail works GREAT). Leave the conditioner on for about 15 mins then rinse. Towl dry your hair %26amp; brush viguaously with boars brush. Apply murrphay's liberally and cover with wave cap. Leave cap on overnight. Wake up looking like SEXY BROTHER. Cocoa

ummm... are you African, or American?

by "African American", do you mean "black"?

here in the UK, "nappy" means "diaper".

so are you a black man with diaper hair? if so, there's not much hope.

I don't know that one is better than the other. Stay away from the S Curl though!!!! Just make sure you follow the directions, and use a wide tooth comb to comb through your hair. Otherwise you'll end up looking like you have a relaxer. And, that wouldn't be cute.

Before going the texturize route... try conditioning your hair really good. Maybe even leave a little in. Put a little gel in your hair. And see what it naturally does.

Proline comb thru texturiser they also have other products which help keep the waves/curls nice. Most beauty supply, pharmacy or dollar stores carry it.

The best thing to do is walk into a hair salon with hair dressers of West Indian descent and ask them. They know best when it comes to that sort of thing. Whether it is testurizing or dreading, they're the best people to ask. I used to get it done by them and a lot of people I know as well.
