What's the best way to straighten my African-American hair?

I'm 16 years old and right now I have braids but it'll be time to take them out in about 2 months. I wanna wear my hair straight but I don't wanna get a relaxer again because after a while my hair gets really dry and breaks off. I once had long hair but it broke off because of a relaxer. I'm thinking about training my hair but I hear that it takes a while. Also, summer's almost here and I don't wanna sweat it out. What should i do and how long does it take to train hair?

Sedu flat irons are really good, they work great on all hair types.

What is your hair texture? is it fine, medium, course or what? Because if a relaxer is breaking your hair off then it's probably too strong for your hair type. Not all African-American hair is the same this is why they make different kinds of perms. If you have fine or medium texture hair then a very mild or child's perm is all you need and should work great and not break your hair off at all. Also if your hair gets really dry then you probably need to wash it and deep condition it more, at least once a week. Then use a good light moisturizer like Bio Silk to keep your hair from getting dry between washes.

Wash it when you take out your braids, condition it really well, blow dry it, and use a Chi Iron to straighten it. Use a fair amount of oil sheen. It will look and feel you had your hair relaxed.

try pressing your hair

I would have my hair pressed for sure. Find a good salon or stylist that is careful and plan on weekly trips. You can have in salon conditioning done also while you are there. Best of luck.

you should get a good flat iron but if your ahir is growing out its going to get curly again and poofy . so youd have to use more than once a day, why not just put them back in braids. itll be easy to care for and will help you natural hair grow out?
