My sister wants me to perm her hair today using Dark %26amp; Lovely perm, but she also wants the honey blonde hair color. If I use the semi-permanent hair color after using the perm will this damage her hair? I looked on one site and it said that as long as it was semi-permanent it wouldn't hurt it. She just colored her hair with semi-permanent on December 24th, and it didn't take, her hair still looks jet black. HELP!!!???****!!!
Using relaxer and semi-permanent hair color? (African-american hair)?
if her hair is jet black you will not be able to go lighter with a semi permanent (it only deposits color) you will need to bleach it to get it lighter. I would not suggest this if you are going to use a relaxer. The reason semi-permanent would be okay is because it has no ammonia and less peroxide(but that's also the reason it only deposits color)

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Her hair will completely fallout. African American hair can not take that type of chemical intake. The fact that she is relaxing her hair alone means she should not be adding any additional color to it. When your hair is dark brown or black the only way to go honey blonde is by bleaching. A 40 lifter will not work. With this said you will strip the hair of all its natural oils and coils and your hair will began to fall out. It may fall out during the prcoess. Dark and Lovely is an extremly strong product all by itself. Also permanent and semi permanent colors have a chemical in it like a pesticide that eats away at your hair. The best thing to do is to use a rinse which wont strip the hair or use a WATER based color. Which still will not give her honey blonde. BLACK color is the hardest color to strip....DO NOT LET HER DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

a semi permanent color doens't have the strength to lift black.
Especially if it's a black dye on the hair. If it's natural black, you can process it with a blonde dye with a higher volume peroxide and lift it to a light brown, if it's black and she want's blonde, then you have to bleach it, and bleach and relaxers do no work well together. Too much damaging chemicals mixed together. Terrible for the hair. Try and convice her that she can't have both, either one process or another.
